Oral language development and disciplinary discourse are indispensable for the development of knowledge and growth in language proficiency. Drawing upon recent recommendations regarding evidence-based instructional practices, science teachers learned about ideas and activities for developing an English Learner’s oral language by interacting with peers and engaging in the learning and doing of science and engineering.
