How can parents support their children at home and in their communities as teachers implement the Common Core State Standards in mathematics?
In this archived webinar, presenters Karen Mayfield-Ingram and Grace Coates focus on effective practices for creating parent engagement programs that include diverse communities. They provide examples of how the Standards for Mathematical Practice can be embedded in informal mathematics programs and how parents can apply them to support their children’s conceptual understanding in mathematics.

Coates directed the FAMILY MATH program at the University of California, Berkeley from 1999 to 2011.
This webinar is sponsored by the Region IX Equity Assistance Center at WestEd in collaboration with the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics and SchoolsMovingUp at WestEd.
