To achieve racial equity and ensure educational opportunities for all learners, states, districts, and schools must identify and address systemwide inequities and their root causes, while also identifying and leveraging current equity-related strengths that lead to transformative change.
Our work builds the capacity of state and local agencies (SEAs and LEAs), and other education organizations, to implement culturally responsive data literacy that centers the experiences of Black, Indigenous, and other students of color, as well as students whose identities are intersectional.
Our Approach: Collaboration, Action, and Meaningful Improvement
Elevating the voices, expertise, needs, and aspirations of those most impacted by—and therefore knowledgeable about—education inequities is foundational to this work.
To ensure these key perspectives are at the heart of your strategic planning efforts, we leverage culturally responsive data inquiry methods to evaluate systemic policies, practices, and procedures, as well as the underlying beliefs they reflect.
Drawing on our national expertise in evidence-based practices, deep relationships in the field, and our own lived experiences as education professionals, we guide you through a customized Systemic Review Process to determine opportunities for sustainably advancing cultural responsiveness and equity.

- Conduct a collaborative Root Cause Analysis to co-identify the beliefs, policies, and practices contributing to inequities in your educational system
- Leverage a customized Systemic Equity Review Report with co-constructed recommendations to improve support for strategic planning and changes to policies and practices contributing to inequities
- Present findings and engage community members in review and implementation
