Career Technical Education Pathways Initiative Fifth Annual Technical Report
Description
Career technical education enables all individuals to achieve financial self-sufficiency, compete in the global marketplace, and contribute to economic prosperity.
A key California Department of Education (CDE) priority is to increase the number of high school graduates who are ready for college and career. Given their interrelated goals, the California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office and CDE have joined together to develop and implement the Career Technical Education (CTE) Pathways Initiative.
The Initiative funds various entities that provide students, middle grades through community college, with the knowledge and capabilities they need for careers in the 21st century California workforce—careers that require high-level skills and many of which pay high wages.
This fifth annual report, prepared by WestEd, covers the impact of the Initiative during 2010/11.
The report contains the following:
- Background of the CTE Pathways Initiative
- Evaluation Data Collection
- Key Findings
- Overview, Activities, and Outcomes of Select Initiative Projects
- Recommendations
