Valentin Pedroza is a Senior Research Associate at WestEd.
For over a decade, Pedroza has promoted research and evaluation projects’ success by leading, coordinating, and executing critical project activities. Pedroza is experienced working with diverse clients, including school districts, universities, state departments of education, and community-based organizations. He is passionate about improving teacher preparation programs, expanding opportunities for underrepresented students in STEM, and developing data visualizations.
Pedroza is responsible for designing, leading, and executing research and evaluation projects. He is proficient in analyzing qualitative data, including using analysis and research software to provide stakeholders with answers to evaluation questions as well as effective data visualizations using Tableau. He directs projects; coordinates data collection; creates data management systems; develops instruments; collects, manages, and analyzes data; and writes impactful reports. Pedroza has a wide breadth of experience working on key educational areas, including teacher preparation programs, higher education STEM pathways, addressing the needs of historically underserved students, charter schools, and technical assistance.
He received a WestEd Strategic Investment grant to develop policy recommendations, resources, and a professional community to support WestEd staff in creating visually consistent, accessible, secure, and high-quality data visualizations and dashboards.
Pedroza received a BA in psychology with a minor in child and adolescent studies, and an MA in psychology, emphasizing statistics and research methods.
