Lisa Savčak is the Director of Engagement and Communication with the Carnegie Math Pathways, a program committed to increasing student success in mathematics and overall college and career outcomes.
Savčak is responsible for strategic outreach and communication planning for the program and leads Carnegie Math Pathways’ partnerships with tribal colleges and universities (TCUs).
Savčak came to WestEd from the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching. Previously, she worked in international education and development, first at IREX in Washington, DC, and then at the Institute of International Education (IIE) in New York.
At both IREX and IIE, Savčak led teams to implement large-scale initiatives for educators and students from the United States and 45 other countries focused on building capacities in high-impact learning and pedagogy—increasing global education competencies and coordinating English language training for international STEM students.
Savčak earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Northern Colorado and a master’s degree in international studies from the University of Denver.
