Jenna Terrell is a Senior Research Associate in Economic Mobility, Postsecondary, and Workforce Systems. She develops research and evaluation studies and leads data analysis for a number of education research projects funded by the U.S. Department of Education, the National Science Foundation, and the National Institute of Justice.
Terrell has expertise in designing and leading rigorous impact evaluations of educational interventions. She has collaborated with both school districts and postsecondary institutions to develop experimental and quasi-experimental designs to measure impact of grant-funded initiatives. She is also a certified reviewer for the What Works Clearinghouse Group Design Standards.
Her recent work includes leading impact studies that use Statewide Longitudinal Data Systems to examine statewide programs for community college students, including an Institute of Education Sciences–funded study of Career and Technical Education programs in Florida. She is also the principal investigator for an evaluation of a federally funded teacher professional development program in South Carolina.
Previously, Terrell led a staged randomized control trial of a student advising program across three higher education institutions and a cluster randomized controlled trial with more than 40 minority-serving institutions across the country. She also led a longitudinal study of postsecondary outcomes for STEM students in one of the largest minority-serving institutions in the nation.
Terrell holds a BA in political science from Georgia State University and an MA in public policy from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
