Daniel Murphy is a Senior Research Associate with Assessment Research and Innovation, based out of a home office in Texas.
Daniel has extensive experience with K-12 assessment from a variety of perspectives, having served as a teacher and counselor in Texas public schools, psychometrician and researcher at Pearson, and data analyst at the Texas Education agency prior to joining WestEd. As a Senior Research Associate, he is a member of a team responsible for assessment research and development, with a focus on advanced measurement techniques and innovative assessment. Daniel’s specific areas of expertise include classical test theory, item response theory, multilevel growth modeling, and research design.
