Amber Morabito is a Curriculum Manager in Early Childhood Development and Learning for the Program for Infant/Toddler Care (PITC) team. Morabito is responsible for four key areas of work: PITC curriculum project leadership, team and project management, communication, and marketing. Morabito leads, mentors, and supervises a team that delivers PITC Curriculum implementation training and coaching nationally. Additionally, Morabito develops proposals and strategies to expand this important work across the country.
Morabito has worked in education for over 20 years. Prior to joining WestEd, Morabito held a variety of positions in early childhood education and psychology, including at the university and community college levels, and as an early childhood educator working directly with children and their families—as well as being an assistant program director, administrator, consultant, supervisor, and mentor. Additionally, Morabito’s focus and experience have included the training and coaching of early care and education staff in center-based childcare and family childcare programs.
Morabito is a co-author of The PITC Curriculum, which focuses on enhancing the PITC’s relationship-based, responsive approach to early care. She has also authored Differences Among Temperament Identification, Racial Affiliation, and Gender as They Relate to Perceived Social Competence of Children in Kindergarten, and The Relationship Between Parenting Self-Esteem and Depression: Voice as a Mediator: Factors That Influence Social Competence in Children and Academic Success.
Morabito holds a BA in psychology from San Francisco State University, an MA in developmental psychology, and a PhD in developmental psychology from Capella University in Minneapolis.
