Alexis Grant is a Research Associate with Resilient and Healthy Schools and Communities.
Grant is a mixed methods evaluator with expertise in study design, geographic information systems, a variety of qualitative methods (focus groups, interviews, arts-based methods and analysis), survey design, and quantitative analysis. Grant is knowledgeable on the subjects of racial disparities in chronic disease, antiracist and participatory research approaches, and multi-component intervention planning.
As an interdisciplinary researcher, Grant is interested in a variety of outcomes in the social determinants of health, including quality of public education, social service provision, and public policies impacting children and families. She began work with WestEd during her appointment as an American Evaluation Association Graduate Education Diversity Intern (GEDI).
Grant holds a BA in psychology and English from Howard University, an MA in behavioral and social health sciences from Brown University School of Public Health, and a PhD in community health sciences from the University of Illinois Chicago School of Public Health.
